The Film (4/5)

Wreck-It-Ralph 2 - Ralph Breaks the Internet is the sequel to Disney's 2012 hit Wreck it Ralph. The film takes place 6 years after the events of the original. Ralph(John C. Reilly) continues to be the villain, turned good, after his prior adventure and spends his spare time with his best friend Vanellope (Sarah Silverman). Ralph is blissful in his existence since the conclusion of the original story, however, Vanellope is getting unsettled by her day to day routine. Ralph decides to help her, by creating a new track in her game "Sugar Rush". However, the new track causes a player to break the wheel for the game, causing Sugar Rush to become unplugged. Ralph and Vanellope then go into the new part of the arcade "WiFi" to access the internet and acquire a new steering wheel for Vanellope, but is that what she really wants?

Wreck it Ralph was a Disney film basically tailor made to my retro video game interests. I loved the film on first watch, and have watched it many times since.  To say I had high expectations for the sequel was an understatement, fortunately, Disney has decided to continue their current streak of excellence by not letting down viewers in the sequel department. The film maintains the feeling and tone of the original Ralph, but by using the internet as a template allows them to expand just enough to create something that does not feel repetitious, and adds to the story and characters.

The animation for Wreck it Ralph 2 is the same CG animation carried over from the original, which is quite effective and works well.  The performances across the board are excellent with Silverman and Reilly maintaining the quality standards of the original film. The film's only real negative point, and it's minor is how overly commercial the film is, with plugs for popular websites and companies throughout. It doesn't really detract from the overall film, and is honestly keeping in tone with the original, with the exception that retro video games are a limited market.

Audio/Video (5/5)

Disney presents Ralph Breaks The Internet in a typical high quality transfer that is common for the studios pictures. The Blu-ray has a very detailed color palette, and just looks fantastic all the way around.

The Blu-ray audio is an English DTS-HD 7.1 track that is excellent conveying the overall tone and sound of the film.

Extras (2/5)

Not much here for fans of the film some music video, deleted scenes, trailers and a little more

Overall

Ralph Breaks the Internet was a solid sequel to a fantastic and fun original. The Blu-ray looks and sounds great, but has limited extras. RECOMMENDED.
