Vera is dating a fellow named Nick.  She is madly in love, her her love is not reciprocated by him. Rather, he uses her body to help pay their bills by prostituting her out. One day, Nick having enough of Vera kicks her out, and she kills herself soon after. When picking up her sister's belongings, Nadia finds out about how badly she was treated by Nick, and seeks her revenge in a way that pushes Nick's behavior right back at him.

The Wild Pussycat is a film I'd never seen before this excellent Blu-ray release from Mondo Macabro. The film is a blend of sexploiation elements, and revenge cinema that is truly effective.  Nadia's revenge plot which involves using her sexuality to tease and torment him via a one way mirror, I'll admit is quite unique and not something I can remember seeing as far as revenge cinema is considered which is more about the straight-ahead violence of vengeance.    In this case the viewer is teased out as Nadia's revenge is stretched out over a longer period, so moments as seemingly minor as Nadia teasing Nick with a drink he won't get are all the more painful.

The film is stylishly directed by Dimi Dadiras which cast the film in crisp and gorgeous monochrome.  The performance across the board are fitting to the film, and help add to the overall atmosphere, blending sex, revenge, and a hint of psychedelia. The film is well-paced, and rarely ever seems to skip a beat. This one is definitely getting additional viewings.

Mondo Macabro presents Wild Pussycat in an excellent 1:37:1 1080p AVC encoded transfer that looks crisp, clean, and well-detailed.  Audio is handled by a mono track  in Greek that sounds quite solid and without obvious issues.  Wild Pussycat's is showing in 2 versions a censored Greek version, and an uncut export version. Further, Mondo Macabro have seen fit to include another Greek feature film, the Deserter involving a man who escapes from war, and falls in love with a married woman. This film is similarly excellent, and a great addition to an already fantastic set.  There are also trailers, and galleries of promo art.

Mondo Macabro's Blu-ray release of the Wild Pussycats brings 2 Greek films that have not seen the light of day on home video in the U.S. before and gives them an excellent, well-restored release which will certainly put both films on the map of genre fans. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
