The Series (2/5)

I'll admit I'm not much for "fan-service" animes. I mean if it's part of an overall whole, and the story is first, I'll watch, but when the whole escapade is animated around the concept, I find the whole thing uninteresting. Unfortunately, that is what Seven Heavenly Virtues mainly is. This short-form series a spinoff of the series Seven Mortal Sins (I haven't seen it, sorry), is rather fortunately only compromised of 12 five minute episodes so the experience is rather short.

The series involves seven beautiful angels lead by Michael, who have decided that since Lucifer is attempting to rise, it is time to look for Messiah #2. As such the angels much scour the planet and test various candidates for the position, this usually involves bits of comedy, and well fan service through the comedy.

The show is quite limited in it's approach, with each angel having certain quirks that make them stand out in the world. Aside from that, they are very obvious beauties with a predilection for nudity, and the comedy uses that. The animation is actually quite solid, and the show can be recommended for at least that.

Audio/Video (4/5)

Seven Heavenly Virtues is presented 1:78:1 with a 1080p AVC encoded transfer. Everything here looks quite solid with no obvious issues, colors, pop, and detail is excellent.

Audio is presented in suitable English and Japanese DTS-HD MA 2.0 tracks with dialogue and score coming through crisp and clear.

Overall

Basically a short-form comedic fan service anime that uses the characters looks for comedy. It's mildly entertaining at times with solid animation. The transfer and audio are very good, but lacking in extras. Stream/Rent if you can.
