The Series (4/5)

    Star Wars: Rebels Season 4 is the final season of the Dave Filoni lead animated prequel series which bridges the gap between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. This season continues the adventures of the Ghost Crew as they work together to fight against the Empire.  The series continues various arcs from the prior 3, and works to wrap them up in pretty unique and interesting ways. Also, it shows us characters and locations from the original trilogy, prior to the events of those films.

    The series continues to be extremely well-written with a strong guided hand by Filoni, who seems to understand the Star Wars Universe better than anyone writing for it now. The action sequences are excellent, while character moments are quite strong.  The story concludes (no spoilers) in a very satisfactory and interesting way in the concluding episodes.

    Of course, the big reveal out of SDCC is that Clone Wars final episodes will soon be finished, and Filoni is currently working on a series within the pre-Force Awakens era.  With the end of Rebels, this knowledge will certainly keep long time fans happy for their Filoni/Star Wars fix.

Audio/Video (4/5)

    Everything looks solid on the 1080p transfers presented here. Colors are nicely reproduced, and detail is fine. I did notice some odd banding issues in a few spots, but nothing overly distracting.

    The 5.1 track included here is quite solid, but not as dynamic as some might hope. Everything comes through clearly, and without issue regardless.

Extras (3/5)

    We get multiple commentary tracks, Rebels Recon episodes and some nice featurettes on characters and BTS related things. Overall a solid package for a show that never really gave a lot of extras on Blu-ray's previously.

Overall

    Star Wars - Rebels (Season 4) sticks the landing in regards to this particular series. The Blu-ray looks and sounds quite solid with some decent extras. RECOMMENDED.
