    2018 was Cutie Honey creator Go Negai's 50th year working as a manga artist. In response to this Production Reed crafted the Fifth Series of Cutie Honey as an anime, Cutie Honey Universe.  The series involves Honey Kisaragi the world's most advanced android, who can transform her body into different forms with different powers.  She is out to battle against Sister Jill and the Panther Claw with her team at the Panther Claw Investigation Service.

    Since this is the 5th Cutie Honey anime, the series doesn't do much in the way of setup, rather they get right to the meat of the show.  The series is episodic in its approach, with Honey getting into multiple conflicts with the Panther Claws's.  There are elements of an overarching story here, but overall this is one that fans can jump into and pretty much just have fun with. There is decent action strewn throughout the series, with some trademark sexiness.

    Sentai Filmworks presents Cutie Honey Universe with a splendid 1:78:1 1080p AVC encoded transfer preserving the OAR of the series. Everything here looks nice and well detailed, colors are well reproduced, and I did not detect much in the way of issues. Audio is handled by a DTS-HD MA 2.0 track in Japanese and English, both sound quite solid, and I did not detect any problems. There is clean opening and closing as far as extras go. Cutie Honey Universe is not my favorite of the Cutie Honey animes, but I did have fun with it. Everything here looks quite solid, and this set comes RECOMMENDED.
